12/30/2023 0 Comments Gramps donuts![]() ![]() We’d never seen Gramps like that, and I think that’s pretty much the only time I ever saw Gramps really mad. “You goddamn horseball!,” Gramps screamed out the window, as my brother and I barely contained our laughter, sitting on the red plush seats in the back of the black 1985 Pontiac Bonneville. We barely got a block up Seneca Street when Gramps threw on the brakes and made a hard u-turn back towards Petro USA. Gramps probably asked for $5, which he figured should have about filled up the tank. One notable time was when the full service gas station guy screwed him on the amount of gas he pumped into Gramps’ car. His heart was always smiling, and that showed through in his voice. BUT THE SCRATCH BISCUTS WERE GOOD. I DON'T THINK THE CARMAL BROWNIES HELPED ANY BUT THEY WERE GOOD. MADE SOME PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE, BAKED BEANS, CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP(ALL WHITE MEAT, OF COURSE), AND IT ALL SEEMED TO HELP MY COLD. GUESS THOSE LITTLE CRITTERS WANTED IT REFILLED!! THEY HAD BROUGHT IT FROM THE BEDROOM. ![]() ALSO FOUND ONE OF GRAM'S MOUSE TRAPS SETTING IN THE DINNING ROOM, COMPLETELY CLEANED OF THE P-NUT BUTTER. BUT, WHEN I CAME BACK FROM THE SECOND BRIDGE, THERE WAS A BIG SCHOOL OF LITTLE TROUT, BACK IN THE AREA. AND FOUND THAT THE TROUT ARE IN THE RIVER, A COUPLE OF BIG ONES HEADED DOWNSTREAM WHEN I SHOVELED THE BRIDGE. WENT TO HILLBILLY HEAVEN TO DROP OFF SOME STUFF AND CHECK ON THINGS. ![]()
